Mirakash vs Vapi

A developer platform for building voice agents, assembled from your choice of speech and model vendors and driven by an API.

Below is what Vapi is good at, said without sandbagging, and where we differ — in terms you can check on a call with either of us.

What Vapi is good at
  • Genuinely good developer experience — for an engineer who wants to assemble a voice agent from parts, it is one of the fastest routes there is.

  • Vendor-agnostic by design, which is the same instinct behind our own pipeline.

  • Transparent, well-documented API and a large community.

  • Fast to a working prototype.

Where Mirakash is different

What we can do that is hard to answer

01

Indian languages on real phone calls

Malayalam, Hindi and Tamil among others, for both speech recognition and speech synthesis, on the public telephone network — not an English model with an accent setting, and not text-only. This is the difference that decides most deals we win: a platform built for English-speaking markets can be excellent and still be unusable for a call centre in Kerala.

02

An operations layer, not only a build layer

Vapi gives you the runtime. What happens after — reviewing calls, scoring them, spotting the agent's failure modes, routing the ones it could not handle to a person — is yours to build. Mirakash ships the console those jobs live in, because on a real deployment that work is most of the work.

03

Agents that improve from their own calls

Every call is transcribed and scored against a QA scorecard, and what worked is mined into a library the other agents draw on. QA is usually a separate product bolted on afterwards; here the loop closes without anyone exporting a spreadsheet.

04

Consult and resume, not transfer away

When the agent reaches its limit it consults a human or another agent, gets an answer, and continues the same conversation. The caller is not handed off and does not repeat themselves from the start. Escalation as a transfer is the industry default and it is the point at which most of the experience gain is given back.

05

Per-second billing, and voicemail detected

Calls bill on connected seconds rather than rounded-up minutes, and an answering machine is detected so a voicemail is neither billed nor talked to as though it were a person. On an outbound campaign where a third of dials reach voicemail, the difference between those two billing models is most of the bill.

Straight answer

When you should pick Vapi instead

You have engineers who want to own the whole stack, your calls are in English, and you would rather build the operations layer yourself than adopt someone else's.

We would rather tell you that now than three weeks into an evaluation. If that describes you, they are a good choice and we will say so on the call.

Everything on this page about Vapi is drawn from their own public positioning and reviewed on 2026-08-15. Products move, and this one may be out of date before we notice — if we have got something wrong about Vapi, tell us at mirakash.com/contact and we will correct it. We are not interested in winning an argument with a page nobody can reply to.
